Research Programs

The research programs at the Elrom Center for Air and Space Studies are designed to advance theoretical knowledge in the fields of air and space while developing an analytical framework that supports strategic thinking and decision-making. Through interdisciplinary research and collaboration between academia and the defense community, the Center seeks to deepen understanding of emerging challenges and opportunities in the air and space domains.

Future Air Power

This program examines the evolving operational environment of the Israeli Air Force and analyzes its strategic and operational implications. Its objective is to provide a conceptual foundation for shaping future force design and guiding the development of the IAF’s capabilities in a rapidly changing technological and strategic landscape.

Space Strategy

This program analyzes global strategic and technological developments in the space domain and assesses their implications for Israel’s space activities. It aims to support informed policymaking by developing a comprehensive analytical understanding of the opportunities, risks, and strategic dynamics shaping the future of space.

Great Powers

This program analyzes the involvement of global and regional great powers in the Middle East and examines the strategic and operational implications of their activities. Particular attention is given to developments in the air and space domains and to their impact on regional security dynamics and Israel’s strategic environment.

Human Capital and Organizational Adaptation

This program develops analytical knowledge on key issues related to human capital in organizations that employ air power. It addresses challenges related to recruitment, retention, professional development, and the adaptation of organizational decision-making processes in response to operational, technological, and societal change.

Air Power History

This program examines historical phenomena, events, and processes related to the employment of air power, force design, and the evolution of operational and technological concepts. By analyzing past experiences and doctrinal developments, the program seeks to generate insights that enrich strategic thinking and support more informed approaches to future challenges.

Scientific Research

Scientific studies across various disciplines, funded by the Elrom Center, aimed at contributing to the development of relevant and groundbreaking scientific knowledge in the fields of air and space.
