About the Center

The Elrom Center for Air and Space Studies is a multidisciplinary research center established by Tel Aviv University in collaboration with the Israeli Air Force (IAF). The Center seeks to harness academic expertise across disciplines in order to advance research and develop an interdisciplinary analytical framework in the fields of air and space policy and strategy.

The Center was launched on December 31, 2021, following the approval of the Tel Aviv University Senate on November 11, 2020, and began its operations in 2022.

The Center promotes both theoretical and applied research, bringing together scholars from diverse academic disciplines alongside experts from the defense establishment, particularly the Israeli Air Force. Its primary objectives are to serve as a hub for research and learning for scholars and students across multiple faculties; to strengthen academic research in Israel in the fields of air and space policy and strategy; and to develop a new generation of researchers and scholars dedicated to exploring the strategic, technological, and policy dimensions of air and space power.
