Accessibility Statement
Updated on: September 2, 2020
Tel Aviv University attaches great importance to making its websites accessible to the general public and has invested considerable effort to achieve this goal. Although the University owns hundreds of different websites, which cater to diverse audiences and are managed by various entities, we strive to ensure that all sites comply with the accepted standard in Israel and are accessible to people with disabilities.
The websites were tested in accordance with the accessibility guidelines of Israeli Standard 5568 – Guidelines for Web Content Accessibility at the AA level. This Israeli standard is identical to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 document of the international organization dealing with web standardization.
The websites comply with the provisions of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments for Service) Regulations, 5773-2013, subject to the following notes:
-
Accessibility adjustments were made according to the recommendations of the Israeli Standard (IS 5568) for web content accessibility at the AA level and the international WCAG 2.0 document.
-
The tests were evaluated for the highest compatibility across several browsers.
-
The website provides a semantic structure for assistive technologies and supports the standard usage pattern for keyboard operation using the arrow keys, Enter, and Esc to exit menus and windows.
-
The website is adapted for display in the common browsers mentioned above.
-
Accessibility testing was conducted using the NVDA screen reader.
It is important for us to note that despite our extensive efforts to make all pages on the site accessible, you may encounter sections that are not yet accessible.
If you encounter difficulty browsing the site, wish to report a lack of accessibility adjustments, request accessibility implementation, or draw our attention to any issue in this area, you may contact us using the attached form. The University will make every effort to make the site optimally accessible and to respond to every inquiry professionally and promptly.
